Welcome to Lucky Star Ranch, home of LR Miniature Shetlands. We are located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Northeastern Tennessee - PARADISE! Our home is situated in the middle of 40 acres and the mountains surround us. The views are spectacular; every season brings a lovely change of scenery.
I have loved horses all my life and palominos are my favorite! My adventure into the miniature horse world began when I saw a picture of the immortal Gold Melody Boy - one of the greatest Miniature Shetlands ever bred. That was it; I fell in love!
Our goal is to breed the ‘perfect’ American Shetland Pony in Miniature, striving for show quality ponies with good conformation and good dispositions. We breed for refinement, balance, and beauty while hoping to help preserve the Gold Melody Boy bloodlines. Pedigree is also very important to us and our ponies have the very best of proven bloodlines. Gold Melody Boy, My Golden Toy, Realization, Larigo, and Crescent are some of our favorites! All of our Shetland Ponies are either ASPC / AMHR double or ASPC/ AMHR/ AMHA triple registered. Most of them are also ASPC Foundation Certified. They are pictured in pasture condition with little or no clipping, showing their "natural beauty".
Our ponies are handled and enjoyed daily, each one getting the individual care, time, and attention they so richly deserve.
